For Couples

Cook together, actually together

Two people, two sets of recipes, one shopping trip - CookBird keeps it all in sync instead of split across two phones.

Cooking as a couple usually means recipes living in two different places - your partner's bookmarks, your screenshots, whichever one of you actually remembered to save it. Shopping lists get rebuilt from scratch, or duplicated because neither of you checked what the other already picked up.

CookBird puts both of your recipe books in one place the moment you invite each other. Cook from either of your recipes, build one shopping list from a few of them, and check items off together in real time - whoever's actually standing in the store.

How it works

1

Invite each other

One invite from the Sharing page, one acceptance - that's the whole setup. Both of your recipe books are visible to each other from that point on.

2

Cook from either book

Browse a single combined list of recipes, filterable the same way regardless of who added what. Import a new one from a link, or type one in, and it joins the shared book too.

3

Shop from one list, live

Build a shopping list from whatever you're both cooking this week, and check items off together in real time - whoever's actually standing in the aisle.

One book, both your recipes

Invite each other and your recipes merge into a single book you both can browse, search, and add to - not two separate lists you have to compare by texting each other.

One shopping list, checked off together

Whoever's at the store checks items off live, and the other person sees it happen instantly - no more "did you already get milk?" texts mid-shop.

Plan the week together

Lay out who's cooking what across the week from your combined recipe book, and let the shopping list build itself from the whole plan.

Access is never one-way

Sharing isn't permanent or all-or-nothing - either of you can revoke access or leave the shared book any time, no awkward conversation required.

Common questions

Do we each need our own account?

Yes - CookBird accounts are individual, and sharing connects two separate accounts together. That way each of you keeps your own login, your own free-tier recipe count, and the option to disconnect later without affecting the other.

Can we keep some recipes private from each other?

Sharing is per connection, not per recipe - once you've invited each other, each of you sees the other's whole recipe book. There's no way to selectively hide individual recipes from a connection you've already accepted.

What happens to recipes we each had before we connected?

They come along automatically. Everything already in your own book becomes visible to your partner the moment you accept each other's invite - no need to re-add anything.

Can we disconnect later if we need to?

Yes, from either side, at any time - revoking access or leaving a shared book stops the other person's recipes from showing up in your view, and vice versa. Nothing is deleted.
