Is CookBird free to use?

Yes. Free accounts get up to 10 recipes, along with every core feature: importing recipes, building shopping lists, and sharing your recipe book. Premium removes the 10-recipe cap.

How do I add a recipe?

Paste a link to a recipe page and CookBird fetches and translates it for you automatically, or enter one by hand with a rich-text editor for the directions.

Can I share my recipes with family or roommates?

Yes. Invite someone by email from the Sharing page - once they accept, their recipes show up alongside yours (toggle who's visible per person), and they can see yours the same way.

How do shopping lists work?

Pick up to 5 recipes from your recipe book and build a list from them in one click - duplicate ingredients across recipes are automatically merged and consolidated for you.

Can more than one person check items off the same shopping list?

Yes. Shopping lists sync live - when someone checks an item off, everyone else looking at the same list sees it update instantly.

Who can see my recipes?

Only you, unless you explicitly invite someone through the Sharing page and they accept. Nothing is shared by default.

Can I cancel Premium?

Yes, any time from your account settings.

What is CookBird?

CookBird is a recipe app that keeps all your recipes in one place, plans your week of meals and turns that plan into one shopping list you can share. It works on iPhone, Android and the web.

Can I save recipes from TikTok, Instagram or other websites?

Yes. Paste a link from any recipe website and CookBird imports it with a photo for every step, not just a thumbnail. You can also save recipes from TikTok and Instagram.

Can I scan handwritten recipe cards or cookbook pages?

Yes. Point your phone at a handwritten card or a cookbook page and CookBird turns it into a clean, searchable recipe. It reads cursive and faded ink, can stitch together recipes that continue on a second page, and keeps the original photo attached to the recipe.

Can CookBird translate recipes?

Yes. Imported recipes are translated for you automatically, and you can scan a recipe in Dutch, German or Italian and read it in your own language.

Does CookBird have a meal planner?

Yes. Plan your week of meals from your own recipes and turn the plan into a single shopping list you can share with the people you cook with.

Can I track calories?

Yes. CookBird includes a food log where you can track calories by scanning a barcode.

Which devices does CookBird work on?

CookBird is available on iPhone, Android and the web.
